Jourdan Lewis is an undersized playmaker who has tremendous ball skills

The Cardinals already were short on cornerbacks, but this off-season cost them Marcus Cooper, Tony Jefferson, and DJ Swearinger. They do have Patrick Peterson at one of the corner spots, but they need more help, and another guy who excels at making plays. That player is Jourdan Lewis.

In 2016, the Cardinals were unsure of who their second cornerback would be. They eventually settled on Cooper, who ended up starting 13 games and posting four interceptions. He returned one of them for a touchdown. He played well enough, overall, but they chose to let him walk in free agency. leaving them in need outside.

Lewis is just 5’10”, but the Cardinals have had luck with under-sized defensive backs before. Tyrann Mathieu is 5’9″, but has proven to be an effective NFL player, despite being considered short. This is a deep cornerback class, but adding a less talented player, just because he’s taller, doesn’t make sense. Size isn’t a measurement, it’s an attitude.
