Arizona Cardinals: 5 undrafted free agents to watch for
By Scott Allen
Trevor Knight, QB, Texas A&M
The Cardinals did not find anyone worthy enough to draft at quarterback last weekend in Philadelphia. They did find an arm that could help at some point after the draft in Trevor Knight.
Knight, who played for Texas A&M his senior season in 2016, started his college career at Oklahoma. His 2016 was his best by far, so the move to College Station, Texas seems like a smart one.
Now it is time to see if the Cardinals are the smart ones to have Knight come in and compete for what likely would be a third quarterback spot, if the Cardinals decide to keep three quarterbacks.
Knight threw 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions for the Aggies last season. He had 25 touchdown passes and 19 interceptions in his three seasons in Norman, Oklahoma.
He threw for 2,432-yards with a completion percentage of 53.3 last season. Those aren’t knock you out of your chair numbers but good enough to earn a look.
The Cardinals have said they want their future quarterback to be someone they love. Although Knight hasn’t done anything yet, you wonder if maybe he is a guy that eventually could become that guy? Only time will tell.
