Matthew Stafford

When the Cardinals last saw Stafford, he was not having a good day.  Arizona went into Detroit and beat Stafford and his team 42-17.

Stafford was pulled halfway through the game.  He threw three first-half interceptions.  He only threw 13 for the entire season.

Last season, however, Stafford only threw 10 interceptions.  It was a career-low when playing a full season in his eight-year career.  He threw one interception in an injury-shortened 2010 season when he only played in three games.

While he only threw 24 touchdowns last season, he still got his team back to the playoffs as a wild-card team, just missing out on the NFC Central division title.

Many people are high on Stafford and the Lions in 2017.  If the Lions are as good as experts think they will be, then it will be good that the Cardinals are getting Stafford out of the way in the season opener in Detroit on September 10th.
