Chad Williams

Some weren’t too excited about this third-round draft pick out of Grambling State.  That was both from experts and local fans.  For them, Williams will surprise.  For the rest of us, Williams will confirm what we all thought of him in the first place.

Williams is going to push for the number three or four receiver spot this season.  He is that good.

He has the talent to push for number one or two down the road.  That is at least a couple of years off, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Williams caught 90 passes for 1,337-yards and 11 touchdowns last season for Grambling St.  It doesn’t matter what level you are on, that’s impressive.

To be able to haul in 90 receptions in just 12 games at the college level can’t be ignored.  The Cardinals didn’t ignore it and are now going to be the beneficiaries of his services for at least the next several years and hopefully beyond.
