Jaron Brown needs to finally play up to his talent level in 2017

Much has been made of the Cardinals wide receiver corps this preseason. Head coach Bruce Arians hasn’t been pleased, and the position could be trouble in 2017. The team needs somebody to step up, and Jaron Brown is a guy that could do just that.

Brown has the size and skill set that the Cardinals love, and they keep waiting for him to put it all together. To this point, though, it hasn’t happened. His best season, in 2014, saw him record just 22 catches for 229 yards. Last season, injuries limited him, and he played in less than half the games.

With question marks and injuries already plaguing the team at receiver, Brown’s ascension would mean a lot. Last week, he almost had a long touchdown catch, but the ball was out of reach. He wound up with no catches. He’ll try again this week to stake his claim as the next great Cardinals receiver.
