Tight end Troy Niklas is hoping to stay healthy and make an impact in 2017

With the wide receiver position in such disarray, it would benefit the Cardinals if they can get a lot out of their tight ends. Jermaine Gresham returns after having 37 receptions, 391 yards, and 2 touchdowns in 2016. They could use some depth behind him, though.

Troy Niklas had high expectations when he was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Injuries have had a drastic effect on his career, and in three seasons as a pro, he has had just eight catches and 71 yards. He’s hoping to make 2017 a comeback story.

Niklas is clearly a talented player. When healthy, he could make a fine NFL tight end. Last week, he recorded two catches for 14 yards, one for a score. On Saturday, he’ll try and keep the momentum going in an effort to earn a full season’s worth of playing time.
