Jason Witten

It is no secret the Arizona Cardinals have difficulty covering tight ends.  They had gotten better over the past couple of years in that area.

However over the last two weeks the same problems have surfaced in covering Detroit and Indianapolis tight ends.

Last week in Indianapolis the Cardinals had a hard time stopping tight end Jack Doyle.  Doyle managed eight receptions, pretty much at will, for 79-yards.

Despite this being his 15th NFL season, Witten has already established himself in the first two weeks as still being one of the top tight ends in the game.  He has 17 receptions for 156-yards and two touchdowns.

In seven career games against the Cardinals, Witten has caught 37 passes for 379-yards.  He only has one touchdown reception though.  Still, you can tell Witten loves to be targeted.  The Cardinals will need to keep him in check.  At this point, don’t count on it happening.
