The Ugly

Offensive Line

Quite honestly we could name them in the very ugly category if we had one.  As mentioned earlier, if not for Palmer, the offensive line could have give up many more than the six sacks the Cowboys ended up with.

The line couldn’t pass protect and they couldn’t generate any run blocking.  The running game suffered with just 49-yards rushing on 21 carries.

Right tackle Jared Veldheer has done some great things for this team.  At this point though he may want to take a long look at himself and see if he is doing the team a disservice by remaining a part of this team.

He walked out in training camp only to decide to come back.  Likely the money he would have to pay back by quitting was a big factor in returning.  No one, especially him, has ever said that and never would.  It looks that way from here though.

They need D.J. Humphries and Mike Iupati back, period.  Otherwise Palmer won’t survive the season.  He can’t be sacked six times a week.  That’s not counting times being hit either.  Simply put, they need to do better, much better.
