More Tramon Williams

Clearly the acquisition of safety Antonie Bethea is paying huge dividends for the Cardinals.  He already had three interceptions.

However it sure was nice to see a backup cornerback doing something special on Sunday.  Tramon Williams had a great interception of Bucs quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick at the Tampa one-yard line. The Cardinals were able to punch it into the end zone with Peterson from there.

Williams was in the game because of the quad injury to Patrick Peterson.  Williams looked a little rusty at first but made a great break on the play that forced the interception.  He would not allow Bucs receiver Mike Evans to wrestle it away from him.

That begs the question, should we see more Williams?  The unequivocal answer is yes.  While Justin Bethel has had his good spots he got burned again on Sunday.

Why not give Williams more time out on the field, particularly if Peterson is going to be nursing a quad injury.  Peterson injured his quad against the Eagles and had been listed as questionable against the Bucs.

It sounds as if Peterson will be able to play this week in London but this is a great opportunity to get Williams some more game reps.  Game situation may dictate how that goes but now we’d like to see a lot more.
