Phil Dawson

Dawson was never going to be in Arizona long at 42-years old.  However given the kicking woes over the last few years and the good career he has had, it was thought he could be the guy for at least a few years.

Now that is very much in doubt.  Dawson has made some nice kicks, including a game winning 57-yarder against the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 26th.

However, he has missed eight field goals so far this season.  That is most in one season in his career.  He has missed some of them pretty bad.  Some of them were chip shots.

While perfection is not likely, the Cardinals need a more consistent kicker.  They need one that can be relied upon, especially when the offense has struggled most of the year like the Cardinals have.

It is hard to say where they will find a guy that can be more consistent.  Do they pick up a college kicker?  Do they go free agency?  Either way, Dawson may be a one in done here.
