Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks: 2017 finale
By Scott Allen
Key injuries
Who isn’t hurting for either team? The Cardinals seemingly lose players every week. The Seahawks have had their injury issues as well. They lost cornerback Richard Sherman for the season in their last matchup in November.
The Cardinals haven’t ruled anyone officially out but do have several players who are listed as questionable and good candidates to be inactive on Sunday. They include linebacker Josh Bynes, running back Elijhaa Penny, guard Earl Watford, running back Kerwynn Williams, and tight end Troy Niklas.
Niklas did practice in full for the first time this week on Friday though. Bynes, who along with Niklas missed last week’s game, did not practice at all this week.
As for the Seahawks, they have listed linebacker D.J. Alexander and defensive tackle Nazair Jones as out for Sunday. They have also listed four players as questionable.
The questionable include linebacker Bobby Wagner and tight end Luke Willson. Wagner was limited in practice on Friday while Willson did not practice.
Prediction
Expect the Cardinals to come out with a lot of effort. It is still Seattle though and they have something on the line, a playoff spot.
Now, that hasn’t kept some people from questioning whether they would still give a top effort on Sunday. It is a mess in Seattle with ego’s, contract’s, and future status of players and coaches.
It is still Seattle. As long as they have Russell Wilson at quarterback and they play in front of one of the best home field advantage’s in the NFL, it is going to be tough.
That being said, the Cardinals offense still only put up 16 last week at home to a struggling Giants team. Don’t look for the 34 points the Cardinals put up to win last year on Christmas Eve in Seattle.
