Arizona Cardinals: 5 potential coaching replacements
By Scott Allen
Pete Carmichael, Jr.
Having lead the New Orleans Saints offense with Drew Brees at quarterback for the last eight years should say something. The Saints offense was very prolific in 2017.
After a couple of down years, the Saints offense took a different turn this season. Not only did they have a fantastic passing game still with an aging Brees but developed one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL.
That is the kind of balance the Cardinals tried to show at times in 2017 but sometimes abandoned the run. The Saints stayed true to themselves and is a big reason why they are the number four seed in the NFC playoffs.
Best guess here is the Cardinals don’t go knocking on this door but if I’m a team about to go get a young quarterback in the draft but at the same time still look for a veteran to lead the team back to offensive prominence, then Charmichael, Jr. is worth a look at.
