3. Larry Fitzgerald overtime touchdown reception

It was a game of field goals. Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson had been 4-4 on field goals.  San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould was 5-5 on field goals.

In the new playoff rule era, the 49ers scored first in the overtime contest between the two NFC-West rivals.  It was 12-12 heading into overtime.  The 49ers went up 15-12 on their first drive.

Since the 49ers were held to a field goal, the Cardinals got their shot to score.  They went down the field in less than two minutes nearing the end of the overtime period, which was now only 10 minutes long.

The 49ers had  taken up the first 7:36 of the overtime.  The Cardinals eventually got their touchdown.  It almost went to receiver John Brown, however he was ruled out of bounds.

Four plays later Palmer found Fitz in the back of the end zone with just 32 seconds remaining in the game.  It was a great throw and a great catch.

It would be one of six touchdowns Fitz would score on the season overall.  This was hands down the most exciting of them all.
