1. Even bigger day against the San Francisco 49ers – 2015

If you thought the game in San Francisco was huge, his day against the 49ers at home earlier in the 2015 season was even better.  It was arguably his best day as an Arizona Cardinals safety.

It may have taken a couple of years but Mathieu finally returned one of his interceptions all the way back for a touchdown. He also did it against quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

He returned the errant pass 33-yards and took it to the house.  In a 47-7 whipping of the 49ers, Mathieu also picked off another pass and returned that 17-yards.

He had five tackles on the day, one of them went for a loss on 49ers running back Mike Davis.  He also made super tackles of Kaepernick and receiver Anquan Boldin.

Mathieu was showing people exactly why the Cardinals took a chance on him.  Despite the way things ended in college for him, he had a lot of talent.
