Week 1 – Washington Redskins

Interesting that this game would be the season opener.  The Redskins will come in with new quarterback Alex Smith.  He is a quarterback the Cardinals were interested in as soon as the offseason began.

We don’t know what we will get out of either team honestly but the Cardinals have played the Redskins tough in Arizona as of late.  Washington beat the Cardinals in Washington last December 20-15.

The Cardinals defeated the Redskins in their only two previous regular season visits to University of Phoenix Stadium.  The last one came in 2016 when the Cardinals defeated the Redskins 31-23.

Expect the roof to be closed for this one.  This game is on Sunday September 9th and likely will still be well over 100.

The Cardinals last opened the season against the Redskins in 2002 in Landover, MD.  That game also ended 31-23 but in favor of the Redskins.

Cardinals will get the victory at home.  Cardinals 23 Redskins 21
