Markus Golden

He likely won’t be ready at the beginning of the preseason anyway.  He may not even be ready by the last preseason game.  The goal is to have him ready by the regular season.

Golden is coming off a torn ACL, suffered in October last season against the San Francisco 49ers.  All indications are right now he seems to be on track.

But let’s not push him, even if he is cleared.  If he is cleared by week four of the preseason, then maybe give him a few game reps.

You don’t want to push a guy like Golden to return too quickly though.  He is too important to the defense. You also don’t want to chance any further injury or setback.

Golden will be ready when the doctors and team feel like he is.  Although you’d like to see Golden in football shape and ready for the regular season, if that means not playing in a game in August, we should be fine with that.
