The 2018 Cardinals

Debuts:

Arizona has a new coaching staff, lead by Steve Wilks.  Their new offensive coordinator is former Chargers head coach Mike McCoy.  Expect that to be talked about a lot on Saturday evening.

A lot of people are coming to see rookie quarterback Josh Rosen.  He is going to see considerable time on the field on Saturday night.  Sam Bradford signed as a free agent in March.

Old faces:

The Cardinals welcome back running back David Johnson.  He missed all but the first half of the season opener in 2017.  He had a brief holdout during the team’s minicamp in June waiting for a new contract.

Also back for his 15th season is receiver Larry Fitzgerald.  Cornerback Patrick Peterson is in his eighth season, all with the Cardinals.

Getting younger:

The Cardinals are getting younger overall.  They have just five players with 10 or more years of NFL experience.  Two of those players are kicker Phil Dawson (20 years) and punter Andy Lee (15 years).

More than one-third of their camp roster of 90 players are either rookies or guys with one year of experience.  That includes 27 rookies and nine first year players.
