Cornerback (4)
Patrick Peterson, Bene Benwikere, Jamar Taylor, Chris Campbell
It appeared during the offseason and early in camp that the cornerback position could once again be the Achilles heel of this defense. Now, they may have the four guys they’ve been looking for.
During the first preseason game, Brandon Williams did not look good at all. It was thought he was competing for the second starting job opposite Peterson.
Jamar Taylor has been alright since coming over from the Cleveland Browns. The guy that now appears to have the inside track is Bene Benwikere.
Let’s also not forget the rookie Campbell out of Penn State. He started camp on the PUP list but quickly came off. He’s another name to listen for often over these last couple of preseason games.
The experiment though on Williams has to end. He just isn’t cutting it. No one else on the roster seems ready to overtake any of these four guys.
