Right Tackles

Andre Smith

Smith should be a solid starter for the Cardinals.  Coming over from the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent eight of his first nine years in the NFL, he should be an immediate upgrade.

Smith started his career with the Bengals and was there from 2009-2015.  He then went to the Minnesota Vikings for one season before returning to the Bengals in 2016.

Smith looked fine in the preseason.  He did have one false start penalty but that was in New Orleans.  He wasn’t the only one being flagged for that.

This will end up being a good free agent acquisition for the Cardinals.  Looking forward to seeing what he can do this season.  Hopefully he can be a big reason why Bradford stays upright this season.

Blaine Clausell

He comes over from the Carolina Panthers, where Steve Wilks was the defensive coordinator.  He was cut this past Friday by the Panthers and claimed on Sunday by the Cardinals.

He was on the practice squad last season for the Panthers but was not put on the active roster until the season had ended.  We don’t know much about him here yet, so it will take some time to get to know him.
