Brandon Williams

If it weren’t for special teams, Williams may not even be here right now.  He’s on just about his last chance to make it as a cornerback in this league.

Of course we say that now but look how long it took the Cardinals to finally get the flier on Bethel before he became a free agent and they decided special teams just wasn’t enough to bring him back.  Williams looks to be in almost the same position now as Bethel was in 2017.

Williams came in as a rookie and was immediately given the starting spot.  It seemed the decision was more out of need though.

Once he showed he struggled mightily at the position over the first couple of weeks in 2016, it was time a for a chance.  It has been a struggle for him since.

He didn’t play too well in the preseason at corner.  However as a special teamer, he was able to save his job, for now.

How much we see Williams behind Peterson should be sparingly unless something happens to Peterson.  There’s now one more on the depth chart behind Williams that could take his place.
