Chandler Jones/pass rush

Overall the Cardinals pass rush was not much to write home about in preseason.  Last week they managed to sack Redskins quarterback Alex Smith three times but it didn’t matter much in their 24-6 loss.

Defensive end Chandler Jones has played the Rams well since coming to Arizona in 2016.  He had 2.5 sacks against them in two games in 2016 and another two sacks last season.  He has a total of 13 tackles against them.

He can’t do it alone but if he can put up between one and two sacks per game against the Rams and everyone else does their job, they may just be able to put enough pressure on Goff into mistakes.

If they can’t put any pressure on Goff, he will have a field day.  The pass rush will likely be without Markus Golden on Sunday but coach Steve Wilks did not rule out, saying there was a chance.  Don’t count on it.
