7. Marcus Gilbert

Gilbert is the one guy on this list that comes to the Cardinals via trade.  It was a necessary trade for both his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and from the Cardinals point of view.

Arizona has been kind of known as Pittsburgh West over the year with all the free agent acquisitions they’ve made with former Steelers.  The offensive tackle is 31 years old.  He stands at a tall 6’6, 330 lbs.

Gilbert started 87 of the 88 games he played for the Steelers.  They drafted him in the second round of the 2011 draft.  So that’s two Gators additions to the offensive line this offseason for the Cardinals.

Yet another guy that had injury issues last season.  He ended the season on injured reserve in 2018.  He also had hamstring issues in 2017 and also spent four games suspended for performance enhancing drugs that season.

If healthy, Gilbert stands to compete for a starting spot on the line this summer.  Of course with any offensive lineman that comes through the desert, that’s a big if.
