Vs. Russell Wilson

Why we want to see it: One of Kyler Murray’s most common NFL comparisons was Russell Wilson. It’s not too hard to see why. Both are dual-threat quarterbacks that are undersized at under 6-feet tall, and both also happen to play in the vaunted NFC West.

The similarities between Wilson and Murray don’t end at size and divisional opponents. Murray and Wilson may produce their most highlight-worthy plays from absurd runs and improbable throws. But, neither are just running quarterbacks; they both are excellent deep ball throws and can work from the pocket.

Judging by Wilson’s lucrative contract extension recently given to him by the Seahawks, Murray should be happy with the comparisons.

When it’ll happen: We should see this matchup often for the foreseeable future. As divisional rivals, the Cardinals and Seahawks face each other twice a year a season. The two are also contractually locked in through 2022.

The first time the two will face each other will be in week four on September 29th in Arizona. They will then meet up again in Seattle during week 16 on December 22nd. If both teams make the playoffs, we could be in store for another matchup.

Simply put, we’ll be seeing a lot of Wilson vs. Murray. The NFC West should be very fun.
