Vs. Dwayne Haskins

Why we want to see it: Like Watson, Murray never faced Dwayne Haskins in college, nor do they share many affiliations. But the two will forever be tied together as the two most highly-coveted prospects to enter the 2019 NFL Draft. Though Haskins was the third quarterback selected, it was between Murray and Haskins for top quarterback in the draft.

Haskins was never in contention to be the Cardinals pick; Arizona selected Murray due to his prior proficiency in the Air Raid offense. But Haskins has Pro-Bowl, franchise-quarterback potential written all over him. Washington lucked into him at No. 15 overall, but Haskins believed he shouldn’t have been there, as he said after being drafted;

"The league done messed up."

This was in response to him falling out of the top ten. Let’s see if he was right.

When it’ll happen: The Cardinals aren’t slated to face Washington anytime soon. Their 2018 opener was against Washington. But, the two are in the same conference, meaning we will get our fair share of matchups in the future.

The most concrete date of play will be in 2020 because the Cardinals faced the NFC East in 2017. But we won’t have to wait for the Cardinals to run through all NFC divisions again before seeing a second matchup. The two could face each other again in either 2021 or 2021 if they finish with the same divisional ranking.

Of course, both could also lead their teams to the playoffs. So, we could see a matchup as soon as this playoffs, as long as Haskins earns the starting job.
