Kyler Murray

It had been a long time since a team had taken quarterbacks in the first round in consecutive years.  However after last season’s miserable performance and getting the number one pick, the Cardinals felt like this was a player too good to pass up.

Josh Rosen should have been given another year in Arizona under coach Kliff Kingsbury.  After all, there are likely some very good quarterbacks coming out in the next year or two.

However, Steve Keim, Cardinals general manager, did say this was someone they couldn’t pass on, despite the presence of Rosen.  They took Murray at number one and then shipped Rosen off to the Miami Dolphins a day later.

There has been so much said about Murray’s height.  That isn’t likely the biggest risk however.  It may be that they are basically handing this team over to a rookie to run the show on offense.

If that doesn’t sound like rebuild, not sure what does?  However there is a chance the move pays off sooner than later.  The Cardinals and their fans are counting on it.
