Cardinals Comeback Player of the Year

Top candidates: Jordan Hicks, Haason Riddick, David Johnson, Kevin White, Robert Nkemdiche

This one could go in so many different directions.  The Cardinals have players contending for this award that have spent time being injured or under performed, or both, over the last few seasons.

Hicks’ injury issues have been well documented.  However if you go by his career numbers, this season he is due to play most of it free of injury.

Johnson is due.  The Cardinals have now been waiting almost three years to repeat what he did in 2016.  White is due.  He has still yet to do what many Chicago Bears fans expected from him being drafted in the first round.

Nkemdiche would be gone already if it was up to a lot of Cardinals fans.  However the Cardinals aren’t ready to part with this first round pick yet.

Nkemdiche showed flashes of what he could do back in 2018.  There were a couple of games where he clearly was the best defender on the field that particular day.

It’s a new season and may be the last in Arizona.  Expect bigger things from Nkemdiche in 2019.  All of these candidates have the opportunity to make it big again in 2019.

Winner: White
