#95 Ricky Proehl

Proehl was another player who found himself as a member of the Cardinals in Arizona and the Rams in St. Louis.  Proehl was drafted by the Cardinals in 1990.

He spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Cardinals from 1990-1994.  He had 287 receptions for 3,840-yards receiving and 21 touchdowns for the Cardinals.  He finished his career with 669 receptions for 8,878-yards and 54 touchdowns.

Proehl could always be counted on as a possession receiver.  Not many had heard of him coming out of Wake Forest in 1990.  He was drafted the same season as quarterback Timm Rosenbach out of Washington State.

Proehl spent five seasons with the Rams after a couple of seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and one with the Chicago Bears.  He retired after the 2006 season with the Indianapolis Colts.

It’s too bad he couldn’t win a Super Bowl with Kurt Warner in St. Louis or Peyton Manning with the Colts and amazing he got to have both throw to him.  Another player if he had had the right quarterback in Arizona could have done some amazing things here given his talent.
