#78 Carl Allen

The cornerback played six seasons with the Cardinals in St. Louis.  He was there his entire career from 1977-1982, despite being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 11th round in the 1977 NFL Draft.

He had 16 interceptions in his six years with the team.  One of those seasons, 1981, he didn’t even record a single interception.  He had six in 1978 and five in 1979.

His six interceptions in ’78 were 10th in the NFL.  He also finished eighth that season in interception return yards with 126.

Two of his interceptions were returned for long yardage.  One in ’79 went for 78-yards, which was actually the third-highest in the NFL that season if you can believe that.

Another one in 1980 went for 70-yards and a touchdown, which was scored against the Philadelphia Eagles, which was instrumental in giving the Cardinals their first victory that season in week four.
