Tramaine Brock Sr.

Not only is another cornerback spot up for grabs but the two starters are in doubt.  Both Patrick Peterson and Robert Alford are going to be out.  Peterson for his six week suspension and Alford anywhere from two months up to the entire season.

Brock is someone who hasn’t made a lot of noise over the first couple of weeks of the preseason.  There has been more talk about the emergence of Chris Jones.  Brock, signed as free agent in the offseason, could go anywhere from being a starter to not being on the roster, although the latter is becoming less likely.

Still, Brock needs to show he can step into the role reserved for Alford during Peterson’s absence.  Brock will be competing with Jones, rookie Byron Murphy, and even Nate Brooks.  There is also the chance the Cardinals scour the waiver wire to bring someone else in, something more likely to happen if Brock’s performance is below average on Saturday.
