Darrell Daniels

Daniels was going to have a tough time making it anyway in an offense where the Cardinals likely use the tight end but not at great length.  The Cardinals did show one package with three tight ends on Saturday but we’re almost sure that was for preseason show only.

Daniels had one penalty called on him, one more than the other tight ends.  He did not have any receptions, which isn’t necessarily his fault.  However after Ricky Seals-Jones had three receptions, Charles Clay had two receptions, and Maxx Williams one reception, it was clear who the top three tight end targets will be.

Daniels will likely get a good chance on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos to give the Cardinals coaches something to think about.  However it will likely be for show only for the other teams.

At this point it would be difficult seeing Daniels making this roster.  Anything can happen but even the slightest error, such as his penalty on Saturday, could cost him any leverage.
