Damiere Byrd

Byrd was also a pleasant surprise in the preseason.  He beat out veteran Pro Bowler Pharoh Cooper for the seventh and final receiving spot.

Byrd made plays when it counted the most.  He played very well the in preseason week three when many were being showcased on national television.

The former Carolina Panthers receiver proved to be a much better free agent signing than Kevin White, who was released in camp just before it ended.

Fantasy value: From a receiving standpoint, not much at this time.  However he is likely going to be a punt return guy.  This is where he might give you value.  He had a couple of nice returns in the preseason and you never know, might break one or two for scores before all is said and done in 2019.

For now though, leave him be until we know if his preseason performance will translate to the regular season.  As the seventh receiver he may be lucky to get a touch or two per game.
