Matthew Stafford

The Cardinals have had some decent luck with Stafford and they’ve also been beaten bad by him.  Last season, the Cardinals held him to 101-yards passing on 15-23 attempts.

In the 2017 meeting, Stafford went 29-42 for 292-yards and four touchdowns.  Let’s just say Stafford has the ability to have that day any given Sunday.

Stafford opens his 11th season out of Georgia.  He threw 21 touchdowns against just 11 interceptions in 2018.  This followed seasons of 29/10, 24/10, 32/13, and 22/12.

The fact is he will beat you more than he will make mistakes.  The Cardinals will need to generate a huge pass rush on Sunday.  Chandler Jones moves back to the middle of the defense and rookie Zach Allen will get a shot to tally his first sacks as an NFL defensive end.

If Stafford is able to get any kind of ball movement going, then it will spell trouble for the Cardinals defense.  The Cardinals defense was suspect at best in preseason.
