Trey Flowers
Flowers comes over from the champion New England Patriots. After spending the first four seasons of his NFL career in the AFC, he makes his NFC debut with the Lions on Sunday.
The defensive end had 7.5 sacks last season. This followed 6 sacks in 2017 and 7 sacks in 2016. The Cardinals offensive line, already down a regular starter, could have a long afternoon as well.
Flowers had 57 tackles last season with 20 hits registered against opposing quarterbacks. Those are numbers the Lions have to be hoping to get and then some in 2019.
His hands are always moving. Not only is he good at chasing after the opposing quarterbacks, he makes things happen. He had two passes defensed and forced three fumbles last season.
If the Cardinals can somehow contain him and keep his production to a minimum, then they may have a shot at moving the ball. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray needs to be aware of his presence. Hopefully he is well aware of what Flowers brings.
