The Arizona Cardinals offensive line has been much maligned over the last few years

The offensive line for the Arizona Cardinals has never really been one to write home about.  it’s not ever been near the top of the units in the NFL.  However the last couple of seasons have been a disaster on the line.

The injuries played a part in both seasons for sure.  Last year however with all the changes in personnel, Cardinals quarterbacks were sacked 52 times last season.  Change was certainly needed.

They went out and got a couple of free agents and acquired one in a trade for the line.  However you won’t see two of them to open the season against the Lions.  Marcus Gilbert came over in a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He’s out with a knee injury on Sunday.

Max Garcia came over from the Denver Broncos.  He missed the entire preseason on the PUP list.  He is still there.  J.R. Sweezy came over from the Seattle Seahawks.  He will play on Sunday.
