Arizona Cardinals: 3 things that need improvement

After all these years, the Cardinals still can’t cover a tight end. Although not sure if there were communication issues or what, but it doesn’t seem to matter the coach or personnel, opposing tight ends seem to have field days against the Cardinals.
Lions rookie T.J. Hockenson had six receptions for 131-yards and a touchdown in his NFL debut. The tight end made the Lions look very smart for taking him in the first round back in April.
There was never any doubt he would be a good one. He was one we would have loved in a Cardinals uniform. However the Cardinals can’t continue leaving tight ends and receivers as open as Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford found them Sunday afternoon.
Despite the tie, Stafford was still able to throw just shy of 400-yards on the afternoon, finishing with 385-yards on 27-45 passes. He did not have throw an interception.
He did have a few passes that could have been picked off, especially the overtime throw to Tramaine Brock that could have ended the game, but still in the end the Cardinals couldn’t come up with one. Brock’s play late in the game however could be a great stepping stone to next week.
