Week 2 NFL Power Rankings: Arizona Cardinals not at bottom
By Scott Allen
Playing in the last game of the weekend on Monday night, they lost to the Oakland Raiders 24-16. It took them awhile to get going as well with new quarterback Joe Flacco and head coach Vic Fangio.
The Broncos by no means were completely overmatched. They just didn’t play very well. They should get some quality wins this season but it certainly is not a good start in a division where all three other teams won.
Take away a 26-yard run by Royce Freeman, the Broncos carried the ball 22 times for just 69-yards. That must improve to help the passing game out.
The Broncos will now go home in week 2 to face another 0-1 team in the Chicago Bears. Neither team can really afford to go down 0-2 in the standings given their respective divisions.
The Packers and a trip to Green Bay loom ahead. Going in there 0-2 could cause a snowball effect.
