Damiere Byrd

The receiving core had a nice day against the Ravens.  Byrd was the biggest surprise of them all.  He has certainly shown he deserves his roster spot.

Byrd, who had a very nice camp and preseason, has also become a favorite target of Murray.  Byrd had 6 receptions for 45-yards on Sunday.

About the only mistake he made against the Ravens was stepping out of bounds at the 6-yard line on a kickoff return after Baltimore made it a 17-6 game in the second quarter. Outside of that, he has been money.

Byrd caught 4 passes in week 1, so this puts him at 10 receptions for the season.  He’s on pace for 80 receptions, something many likely never saw coming when he was signed as a free agent in the offseason.

Now the key will be remaining consistent.  Clearly he is becoming an asset to Murray as the team still tries to figure things out offensively and eventually put more touchdowns on the board.
