Cam Newton

It’s been all over the news this week.  Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has not practiced yet as of Thursday.

He re-aggravated a preseason injury to his foot last week against Tampa.  The Panthers won’t know more about his status for Sunday until Friday.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera wasn’t too happy with reporters continually asking about him on Thursday and walked out of his press conference.  All of this points to a pretty good sign it will be Panthers backup quarterback Kyle Allen taking snaps behind center on Sunday.

So, we likely don’t get to see the first matchup of Newton vs Murray.  That will have to wait for now.  It would have been a fun contest to see but if it means a better chance for the Cardinals on Sunday to get their first win, then so be it.

We should know the official status Friday after the final injury report is released.  Time to get victory Birdgang!
