D.J. Swearinger

One guy in the secondary who had a tough day was safety D.J. Swearinger.  Sure, the box score will tell you he had 5 tackles but he seemed to be a step or two behind all afternoon.

On each of the touchdowns scored by Panthers tight end Greg Olsen on Sunday you could see Swearinger showing up late in the frame.  Olsen wasn’t the only one he had trouble staying with.

He was also in the frame showing up late to the touchdown reception to Panthers receiver D.J. Moore.  Not the best of afternoons for the seventh year player out of South Carolina.

It is fun to watch Swearinger when things are going well.  Not sure what happened with him in the secondary on Sunday but he either looked lost or confused.  Or simply, he knew what was up and he was late to the party.

Either way, he will need to play better.  He’s certainly not the only one at fault but when he shows up in these highlights he’ll see they were anything but highlights.
