He had such a great preseason. He shocked some people who thought at the start of camp he couldn’t make this roster given how deep we thought it would be at receiver.

He has been lights out on special teams. The special teams helped him make the final 53-man roster cut. Certainly though if not for consistent good performances in the preseason games he would not be here right now.

Fast forward to Sunday’s game against the Panthers. Sherfield made a huge mistake in both areas on Sunday. He dropped a wide open pass in the third quarter. He was all by himself and allowed the ball to go right through his hands.

His mistake on special teams may have been bigger. He was called for holding on a Panthers punt in the fourth quarter. It cost the Cardinals offense 10 yards as they tried to get back into the game.
