Chandler Jones

The prediction prior to the game was the Cardinals would get at least four sacks as a team on Sunday.  Well, linebacker Chandler Jones got 4 sacks on his own.  The Cardinals as a team got 8.

Jones was a monster on Sunday.  He not only got 4 sacks on his own, but also one of those sacks was a strip sack.  Jones caused a fumble of Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and recovered the fumble all in one fell swoop.

Coming into the game, Jones had just 4.5 sacks on the season.  Sunday he almost doubled that effort.  The Cardinals will need a lot more of that if they want to have any chance of beating teams like the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers, their next two opponents.

dark. Next. Cardinals hold on to beat the Giants

For now, Jones looked like the Jones of 2016 and 2017, the first two seasons with the Cardinals after his trade from the New England Patriots.  Certainly Jones has help with him on the defensive line and from the linebacker position but he was dominant on Sunday.
