5 things Cardinals need to improve after win vs Giants
By Scott Allen
Defense against the run
Now the Giants didn’t have a huge day on the ground, but they had better than they probably deserved. Running back Saquon Barkley had 72-yards rushing on 18-attempts. He had one touchdown.
He likely would have had more to say about the game but did have to come out for awhile. Remember, he was coming off missing several weeks due to injury.
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had a better day on the ground than Murray did for the Cardinals. Jones had 35-yards on 4-carries. Murray had 28-yards on 10-carries.
The Cardinals could not contain Jones when he had to get the yards needed. Barkley would have had a much better day with better circumstances surrounding the weather and injury.
They face the New Orleans Saints next week. Their top back Alvin Kamara missed Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. However backup Latavius Murray had 119-yards on 27-carries on Sunday, so this is something the defense will need to focus on this week.
