Killer instinct

Up 17-0 early on and completely dominating, leaving the Giants with just 3-yards of offense in the first quarter, an opportunity existed.  That is, an opportunity to put their foot on the Giants throats and leave little chance for comeback.

Then again, we’ve come to know that isn’t the Cardinals way. They had chances to put it away in the second quarter and at the end of the game.

After giving up a quick touchdown pass to the Giants and then the blocked punt, the Cardinals still got a chance at the end of the half to score again.  Instead, after taking a timeout before a Giants punt, they put a knee on it after the punt.  They had one time out and 56 seconds to do something.

Then at the end of the game, they got a strip sack from Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson and forced the Giants to punt back to the Cardinals. The Cardinals couldn’t get a touchdown.  Murray ran out of bounds and had to settle for a short field goal to go up 27-21.

The play calling got quite conservative at times on Sunday.  Running back Chase Edmonds finished with 126-yards rushing but was at 135 at one point.  However some questionable play calls kept the Giants within the one score.
