Comeback Player

Nominees: Christian Kirk, A.Q. Shipley, Justin Pugh

Winner: Shipley

When Shipley went down during the Red-White Practice in training camp last season, many thought that would be the last we would see of him on the field in a Cardinals uniform.  With a torn ACL and an unstable offensive line, who knew what would happen.

The Cardinals had just drafted Mason Cole.  Cole had an up and down rookie season but was still the favorite to be the starting center heading into the offseason.

ACL’s are tricky.  You never know how long it will take someone to recover fully from one.  However Shipley came into camp ready to go and won the starting job.

He’s been solid so far over the first 9 games of the season with no indication of an injury slowing him down.  He goes about his business quietly and you rarely hear his name called in a negative fashion.
