Arizona Cardinals: 3 who disappointed vs Rams
By Scott Allen
Cardinals offensive line
The offensive line as a whole was very disappointing. Left tackle D.J. Humphries had a false start. Guard Justin Pugh couldn’t block, getting pushed around.
As a whole, the unit allowed 6 sacks of Murray. Although they haven’t been much to write home about over the past couple of years, at least this season that had been giving Murray some time to make things happen.
The only thing that happened on Sunday was the line didn’t do their job. They couldn’t stop the Rams defensive line from applying pressure play after play.
They will have to play better against the Steelers. They also have tough tests against the Cleveland Browns, Seahawks, and Rams again before it is all said and done.
There are going to be some decisions to make at the end of the season. All Sunday did was maybe make it easier for the team to decide who stays and who goes.
The Cardinals are going to have to get better on the line to allow the running game to open up and protect Murray better. Look for sweeping changes on the line in the offseason both in free agency and the draft.
