September

One of the fun aspects of predicting the schedule is the first weekend.  Who will play in the kickoff game?  Who will play the first Sunday Night Football game?  Who plays in the first Monday Night Football doubleheader?

For the Cardinals, here is one thought on how it could play out.  The Cardinals will get a home game to kickoff the season since one of their “home” games will be in Mexico City.

September 14 (Monday) – Seattle Seahawks (ESPN)

September 20 – @Dallas Cowboys

September 27 – @Carolina Panthers

For the Monday Night Football opener, the Seahawks don’t seem like the most obvious choice at all.  However since the Cardinals are playing in Mexico City and rumors are the San Francisco 49ers are going to be the opponent, then the Seahawks would seem logical.

It could be the Los Angeles Rams there as well.  The Buffalo Bills would be fun in that spot as well, however if they are going to be on the second half of the doubleheader, then a 10:15 p.m. ET start would not be optimal for east coast viewing.
