Arizona Cardinals: 3 UDFA’s with chance to make roster
By Scott Allen
Reggie Walker, LB, Kansas State
Clearly the Cardinals upgraded themselves with the addition of Isaiah Simmons at linebacker. Simmons though, could end up playing more than just in the middle of the defense.
There’s no sugar coating it, Walker isn’t Isaiah Simmons but he’s no pushover either. Walker had decent numbers for the Wildcats.
His 2018 season was a little better than his 2019 season, so there could be some concern there. However as a linebacker he had 7.5 sacks in 12 games in 2018. Last season he finished with 2 sacks in 11 games.
Walker had 139 tackles in his career at Kansas State. Of those 139, 34 of them were for a loss. He also forced 8 fumbles. This is a guy who loves to be around the ball and doesn’t shy away from competition.
Walker will come in with a good chance to be a depth guy for the Cardinals. With the fifth-year option being declined on Haason Reddick, there’s a possibility it could be even more than that sooner if things fall the right way.
