Safeties (4)

Starters: Budda Baker, Jalen Thompson

Backups: Deionte Thompson, Chris Banjo

Cut: Charles Washington, Kentrell Brice

Budda Baker just became the highest paid safety in the NFL last week thanks to a new contract he signed with the Cardinals.  Jalen Thompson and Deionte Thompson will each get a lot of playing times this season.

Banjo played sparingly last season but has enough experience to stick around.  If he ends up being one of the cuts, it is likely in favor of Charles Washington.

The real deal in this group however is Baker.  Though he has not registered a single interception in his career to date, he is a great defender. He lead all defensive backs with 147 tackles and was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2019.

Jalen Thompson started nine of the 15 games he played in last season, registering 57 tackles and an interception.  Look for him to be a starter once again when they lace them up on September 13th in San Francisco.
