Cornerbacks (5)

Starters: Patrick Peterson, Dre Kirkpatrick

Backups: Byron Murphy, Kevin Peterson, Ken Crawley

Cut: Jace Whittaker, Chris Jones

Once again this group was hit hard early in camp with Robert Alford once again going down with a season ended injury.  Last season after signing with the Cardinals as a free agent, he got hurt in training camp and missed the 2019 campaign.

So the Cardinals again are looking for replacement help.  At least this time Patrick Peterson will get to start the season on time.  Last year he sat out the first six weeks thanks to suspension.

The Cardinals added Dre Kirkpatrick just last week.  He figures to be a starter opposite Peterson if he picks up the defense quick enough.  Byron Murphy could also be in that mix.

Crawley was with the Saints prior to Arizona.  After the signings of Crawley and Kirkpatrick, the Cardinals released recently signed cornerback B.W. Webb.

As for the cuts here, both Jace Whittaker and Chris Jones could be practice squad candidates.  If that happens however, don’t be surprised if another team takes a grab of one of them.
