2. Chandler Jones chasing Michael Strahan’s sack record.

Arizona fans know how much of a force Chandler Jones has been since joining the Cardinals. FINALLY some folks around the NFL started taking notice after the monster season he had in 2019.

After not being voted onto the NFL Top 100 players list of 2019, Jones used that as motivation and racked up 19 sacks while finishing  second in Defensive Player of the Year voting. That earned him the 15th spot on the 2020 top 100.

19 sacks is three and a half shy of the all-time single season record set by Michael Strahan in 2001. When asked about the record in an interview this offseason, Jones said this;

"“I feel like I’m getting closer and closer…I don’t feel older. I had a pretty decent year last year, and I feel even better with this time off, my body got some time to rest. Why not? Why can’t I break the record?” via Darren Urban at azcardinals.com"

As I mentioned on a previous slide, Chandler put up those numbers last year on the leagues worst defense. Now, newly added talent can help draw a little more attention and double teams away from him in 2020. For those of us that have watched him play over the past few seasons, I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see him get it done.
